The Giant Forest in this spectacular California national park is home to thousands of massive sequoia trees, including five of the world’s 10 largest trees by volume. The Giant Forest’s General Sherman Tree arguably is the largest living thing on Earth, towering to 275 feet and almost 37 feet wide at its base. Sequoia groves are found between 5,000 feet and 7,000 feet in the park and are visited by hiking trails and the Generals Highway.
