Eastern Bluebird

A popular nest box bird, Eastern Bluebird populations are stable and increasing. Males are royal blue with a warm brick red chest; females are gray-blue with a subdued orange-brown chest. Females lay 3-7 blue eggs per clutch; clutch size varies with location, with bluebirds farther north and west having larger clutches.
