Joshua Tree NP Milky Way Patch

The Milky Way, consisting of planets, asteroids, meteors, comets and over 200 billion stars, appears as a pale strip of light that can be seen stretched across our darkest night skies. Boasting some of the darkest skies in Southern California, Joshua Tree National Park has been designated an International Dark Sky Park, offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy  an evening of meteor shower watching, constellation spotting, Milky Way viewing and night sky photography, undisturbed by light pollution of urban areas.
