Coho Salmon are one of five species in the Pacific salmon family. Also known as Silver Salmon, they migrate to and from streams from the Aleutian Islands in Alaska to Monterey Bay, California, and have been introduced in all the Great Lakes. In freshwater, Coho fry feed on a wide range of aquatic insects and plankton as well as eggs deposited by spawning salmon. At sea, their diet consists mainly of fish and squid.
