One of the most recognizable dolphins, Bottlenose inhabit warm and temperate seas worldwide, absent only from 45 degrees poleward in either hemisphere. They are 8-12 feet in length and range from 330-1400 pounds. Males are significantly larger than females. Their diet consists mainly of small fish and squid. The neck of the Bottlenose Dolphin is more flexible because 5 of the 7 neck vertebrae are not fused together as in the other oceanic dolphins.
