Polar Bears are large carnivores found in the Arctic. They are powerful swimmers that have been tracked up to 200 miles from shore. Their primary source of food, the ringed seal, provides them with 11 days of energy. Their keen sense of smell can detect a seal den from over 15 miles away and an underwater breathing hole from up to a mile away. Polar Bears are often born in pairs, and stay with their mothers for over two years.
