Great Horned Owl
Great Horned Owls are the most widespread and common owl in North America. They are extremely fierce predators, hunting everything from large falcons to tiny rodents, as well as the occasional fish or insect. It takes 28 pounds of pressure to open a Great Horned Owl’s gripped talons. Their large eyes cannot move in their sockets, but their necks are capable of swiveling 180 degrees to either side. The female is larger than the male, but he has a deeper voice.
