The Pronghorn, native to North America, stands over three feet high at the shoulder and can reach speeds of 55 mph, though they do not jump well. Their head ornaments set them apart from deer and elk, whose branched, solid antlers are shed each year, and from goats and cattle, whose hollow horns made from hair are not shed. Pronghorn are the only species that have branched, hollow, hair-like horns that are shed annually.
