Shooting Star Pin

A member of the primrose family, the Shooting Star is native throughout North America. The leafless stalks grow 10-15 inches tall, topped with a showy display of cascading flowers in shades of pink to white. Shooting star blossoms are pollinated specifically by bumblebees. In a process called sonication, their high-pitched buzz creates vibrations, shaking pollen from the flower’s anthers to the underside of the bee.
